That's deliberate. Chainsaw kickback and felling accidents can cause severe or fatal injury, and a subtly wrong written description of cutting technique could genuinely contribute to one. Everything here covers terminology, safety awareness, and what to expect — actual technique has to be learned hands-on, under direct supervision, from a qualified trainer.
Operate and Maintain (crosscutting only) is a prerequisite for the felling units, and felling itself progresses from basic through to advanced. This isn't bureaucracy — felling a tree safely is a substantially higher-risk skill than crosscutting fallen timber, and the staged pathway reflects that.
